We put a lot of emphasis on indoor air quality and overall comfort and efficiency in the home.  In the past 20 years, homes have become better insulated and more air tight. While this has proved to be economically responsible, it has created a new problem of poor air quality. In this, the amounts of dust, formaldehyde, molds, and allergens in the home have increased due to lack of controlled air exchange. In fact, the quality of air inside your home is probably worse than it is outdoors. Not only can dirty air make you less comfortable, it can create a serious problem for family members who suffer from asthma and allergies.

Here are some statistics for you to consider:
·         Most homes naturally generate about 40 pounds of dust per year for every 1,500 square feet of space.
·          One ounce of dust can hold about 40,000 dust mites, one of the most common household allergens.
·         Up to 72 trillion allergens find their way into your home every day.
·         Children inhale 50% more air per pound of body weight than adults, so they are especially sensitive to air quality problems.
